Clinical and Therapeutic Treatment Approach Between Diabetes Mellitus and Urinary Tract Infection

Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic syndrome of multiple origins, caused by the insulin absence in bloodstream and/or inability to adequately exert its effects, causing hyperglycemia and subsequent complications body's organic systems. Urinary tract infection (UTI) one most frequent due glucose increase blood circulation impairment cellular immunity, creating favorable environment for bacteria proliferation at inflammation spots. This review describes clinical therapeutic aspects diabetes mellitus urinary infection, with guidelines on management these events. A non-systematic was carried out Virtual Health Library, PubMed, Scielo, Google Academic databases descriptors mellitus, Tract Infection, Hyperglycemia, Bacteriuria, Incontinence. The relevant articles were selected. Pertinent issues discussed, covering factors that contribute onset UTI; patients mellitus; asymptomatic bacteriuria, recurrent infections, incontinence people diabetes; treatments infection; relationship between glucose-lowering medications UTI. Given greater susceptibility acquire UTI, combined insight into diseases crucial, both better UTI prevention diabetics treatment both.
